There is a large choice of hotels in the city of Cairo, to suit a range of different budgets. We recommend that the students make use of the Accommodation and Service Packages arranged by the congress organization, together with the State-owned Travel agency of Egypt :’Egypt Travel’ (the agency assisting us in the congress organization). The hotels in the above mentioned packages have been checked to ensure they meet the requirements for a pleasant stay in Cairo.

Four categories of accommodation and service packages have been arranged according to the grade of hotel. They include, in addition to accommodation and breakfast during the days of the Congress, some of the transport arrangements, in particular the daily transfer to the Headquarters Hotel.

Cancellation insurance 19 euros per person: First of all I would like to inform you that it is possible to buy a cancellation insurance, by causes of force majeure, which will allow to pay back the amount given before the congress, according to the insurance conditions. New Headquarters Hotel - Hilton Pyramids Golf Resort

The new Headquarters Hotel is at the Hilton Pyramids Golf Resort situated in the zone of the pyramids, within about 8 kilometres of the complex of Giza (taking about 20 minutes by car). It is in a quiet area, away from the pollution, noise and chaotic traffic of this great metropolis. We think that it is an ideal place for the celebration of a Gnostic congress, possessing a clean and relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by beautiful nature, with all the services and necessary facilities for the congress. The disadvantage is that it is in the outskirts of Cairo, but this will be resolved because all the accommodation packages of the congress will include free daily transport (roundtrip) to and from the Headquarters Hotel. In addition a transport service will be available at different times in the day, for anyone who wishes to travel to and from the zone of the pyramids. Also the hotel has taxis available (requiring payment) for whoever wishes to travel to the city centre.

(The prices of the Headquarters Hotel are per person, and include breakfast and lunchtime for the duration of the congress)

Explanatory note: The package prices are given in euros per person in either double, triple or single rooms, and they cover all the Congress days.

Special information: Since the dates for the congress belong to the high tourist season in Egypt, the hotels have offered a limited number of rooms. For this reason we had to select rooms in different hotels. For your information we explain that at the Headquarters Hotel there are 50 rooms available for the congress. We have been told that they might provide us with more rooms in the future, but initially will offer only 50. We offer this Information to all those participants who might be interested in reserving a room at the Headquarters Hotel.

Children's discounts:
- Children under 12 years will have a reduced price:
- From 0 to 5 years, Free (sharing the room with parents).
- From 6 to 11 years, 50 % discount (sharing the room with parents)
- From 12 years onwards (they will be considered as adults).

Note: Maximum of two children per room.

    During the congress the participants will be offered several optional trips and services:

Lunch packages:

There will be three different options to buy a lunch package during the congress. These packages will include 5 lunches during the 6 days of the congress (the sixth lunch is included in the Congress Registration, and corresponds to the excursion lunch).

The meals package in the Headquarters Hotel is 99 Euros per person
(this is for the people who do not have their reservation in the Headquarters Hotel).

There is also a meals package at an “economic” restaurant with meals for the duration of the congress at 48 Euros per person.

We can also provide you with the fees of some optional visits which could be made during the congress.
Visit to the Archaeological Museum of Cairo: 19 euros (transfer, ticket fee and a guide)
Light and Sound Show at the Pyramids: 21 euros (transfer and ticket fee)

Three types of Cruise Packages have been arranged according to the ship's category. With the aim of offering lower prices, it is possible to make the trip from Cairo to Luxor and from Asuan to Cairo by bus, airplane and train.

Apart from the services and archaeological visits included in the cruise trip, it is also possible to book an excursion to visit the two temples of Abu Simbel (temple of Ramses II and temple of his wife Nefertari), at a cost of the excursion is 65 € by bus and 145 € by plane.
If you choose to visit Abu Simbel temple, please indicate this in the corresponding box for the Post-congress Booking, as well as the chosen way of travelling (by bus or by plane).

The reservation and payment for the Accommodation and Service Packages, as well as of the optional Post-congress Cruise, must be made in installments in advance, in accordance with the following schedule:

- 25 % before March 31, 2009
- Another 25 % before May 31, 2009
- Remaining 50 % before September 10, 2009
